Koko Crater

Nestled in southeast Oahu, Koko Crater is an extinct tuff cone that draws adventurers with its challenging Koko Crater Trail. This trail ascends 1,208 feet (368 meters) in less than 0.7 miles (1.1 kilometers), using the old railroad ties from World War II as steps. The steep climb rewards hikers with panoramic views of Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, and, on clear days, even neighboring islands. The rugged terrain and historic remnants provide a unique hiking experience, making it a standout attraction for those seeking both physical challenge and scenic vistas.
