Monte Yao

Yao Mountain (Yao Shan), the tallest of the striking karst peaks flanking the Li River near Guilin, rises to nearly 3,000 feet (900 meters). Its name comes from the Yaoshan Emperor Temple situated midway up its slopes. From the summit, panoramic views unfold across undulating hills, emerald rice paddies, and traditional rural villages that dot the landscape beyond Guilin. The mountain offers both natural grandeur and cultural resonance, inviting visitors to explore its trails and take in sweeping vistas that capture the essence of southern China’s iconic countryside.
