Tham Krasae Bridge, the longest railway bridge in Thailand, spans the Khwae Noi River as part of the infamous Death Railway, constructed during World War II by prisoners of war under harrowing conditions. More than 12,000 POWs lost their lives building this railway, which was intended to transport war supplies from Myanmar to Thailand. Today, visitors can walk along the trestle bridge and gain a somber understanding of the historical significance and the immense human cost of its construction.
